Lindos | Rhodes | Greece

Jordan & Matt

We met in New York through some friends, we were friends for a few years when we lived in London before we got together. We were together 4 months and I fell pregnant with Hallie - a shock that turned into the making of us. Having the wedding now she is 5 is lovely as she will remember it and we get to have some time for us.

We got engaged at home, I woke up and my little girl was all dressed up at the bottom of the stairs with her camera to take photos and on the stairs were polaroids of our fave moments, Matt was in a suit in the living room on one knee and had a frame next to him of all our adventures surrounded in rose petals.

The wedding day was perfect from start to finish, we chose you guys to plan it as we knew we were in safe hands, and saw all the fabulous weddings you had done. As destination wedding can be stressful to plan, but with you guys, it was so simple, then with Covid hitting we were even more pleased we decided to use Lindos Weddings as it made our lives so much easier when rearranging but also we were able to ask questions about the situation in Rhodes and your recommendations. I am a big planner (in fact if you ever need another hand for the winter meetings it would be my dream job!), but you can't plan things you don't know about, you have so much information on venues, decor and suppliers I could never have known about, that in itself is priceless.

We chose Lindos as it was the first place we holidayed, I wanted to show Matt where I had holiday repped years ago. We have been back every year since and couldn't imagine our day anywhere else.

My fave moment was hearing the sax player play something just like this whilst I walked down the steps to Matthew. It made the moment feel so unique paired with the stunning surrounding at Melenos. The sax player was so talented and really made the day.

Our guests loved the boat trip, I was a little unsure as I get boat sick - but I was fine it was calm and still. Doing the first dance on the boat is something you couldn't replicate elsewhere, again a truly unique experience. It was also refreshing for the guests in the heat and broke the day up - as well as them getting to see lots of Lindos!

The hair and makeup was perfection, from the moment I had my trial I knew I was in safe hands. Having the trial in the salon was perfect. The makeup was browns and pinks with soft curls for something different and easy to manage on the day, the hair and makeup stayed perfect even on the hot walks around Lindos! Which on one of the hottest days of the year is really something.
Nigal and his team were great and true perfectionists.

My dress was Lesley by Enzoani, I picked it for the summery vibe and sparkly straps, it was easy to match those to the jewellery and hair clips for a stand out effect - also enhanced by my sparkly Jimmy Choos -  I think people thought I was mad but I took flip flops for the walk up and didn't notice them for the rest of the day, they were pretty comfy! I went for diamonds and pearls accessories and on our wedding morning Matt had got me a pearly tiffany necklace, it was lovely.

Antonis the photographer and his wife were amazing they captured every detail in the day and took lots of pictures of my Jimmy Choos before I wore them.
He got us doing a lot of poses in high heat but the pics are worth it for sure! They worked so hard all day, no idea how they did it, but cannot wait to see the video and pics! Especially the drone, the guests couldn't believe it when they saw that go up.

Our theme was whites, gold and black fonts. We love the olive branches so we had to have those in the bouquet with white roses. The white drapes and greenery on the table were beautiful, the decor team worked wonders. I made poem favours for everyone and agate slices for place names, we wanted simple but classy and Lindos weddings helped us achieve that! I made a table plan to sit on the mirror and some signs for around the venue, we brought a globe guestbook as we thought we could keep it as decor in the living room and fitted with the theme.
We kept it simple at the ceremony as Melenos is stunning, we had olive bunches on the chair ends and I made order of service fans to keep the guests cool - but nothing else was needed, the place spoke for itself. The view is my fave view!

We are so glad that we went for the lights package at Medeast as they were stunning, all the guests commented at how they made the place look so beautiful. When you see medeast for the outside you have no idea of the beauty that lies behind it, you go back to the restaurant and you see the most lovely view of the bay, and the food - wow! Kelftiko, stifido, mousakka and stuffed chicken - all amazing and to be honest the meze starter was my fave as they were all so tastey! They served fantastic cocktails and wine for everyone.
The cake - wow! it looked beautiful and it tasted even better, the guests couldn't get enough and one said their only regret is they didn't eat more of the delicious cake! the gold drip effect on it looked lovely.

Hats off to Mark the DJ keeping it seem so normal in these uncertain times, he communicated with us throughout and guided us through the night, he played what we asked and knew what else to play that we would like.
Then came the greek dancers - what a laugh that was, a great surprise for the guests and really added some fun to the night and relaxed people.

Advice to future couples would be, trust the process, when you are in the UK and sending emails it can seem you are a little disjointed from the process (probably because of covid also) but when you arrive in Lindos everything you asked for is there, and at your meeting, you will cover every detail, you are in safe hands, the office is like a hive of beautiful worker bees!

To describe our day in 3 words - Unique, Unimaginable & Fabulous.

Our guests have said: it was the time of their lives and felt so privileged to be there, there will never be another wedding like it, it wasn't just a wedding it was a once in a lifetime event.

For me and Matt, it has been perfect, I could cry when I think about it and how lucky we feel to be able to go ahead with it, it was our privilege to have everyone we could here and to be allowed to do so in this beautiful island with such lovely people and with a perfect team like Lindos Weddings, we will never forget a moment of it and will hold these memories in our hearts forever, thanks to you all xx
