Lindos | Rhodes | Greece

Kelly & Chris

We went to school together and were really good friends but as most people do, we went our own separate ways once leaving school. We both married and had children and did not see each other again for 25 years.

I was on a family holiday in Rhodes with my parents and two boys in 2016 when Chris messaged me out of the blue asking me out on a date. He provided me with different options ranging from option 1, “Yes Chris I would love to!” to option 5, “Sorry Chris, it’s a definite no, I couldn’t think of anything worse!” Thankfully I chose option 1 and we have never looked back!

Chris and the four children proposed to me during lockdown. We were pretending to go out so we all got dressed up (the boys had a lockdown buzz cut especially) and when I entered the lounge the children all took turns to get down on one knee and ask me if I would marry Chris. It was a magical proposal because the children, our world, were involved.

On a previous holiday to Rhodes, we discovered

St Pauls Bay and instantly fell in love with it. When Chris proposed we both knew instantly that we would marry at the chapel. There was no other option.

Lindos Weddings were recommended by a previous bride who married at St Pauls. We did however speak to a number of other wedding planners but when we spoke to Karen we could sense her professionalism and enthusiasm for her job. We knew that we would be in safe hands.

Our wedding day was magical in every way possible. Chris secretly organised for me to arrive by speedboat with my bridesmaids and all of holiday makers at St Pauls Bay cheered as we arrived! I felt like a princess!

I was met on the jetty by my two handsome sons who walked me down the aisle accompanied by Mark Usher on guitar.

I was blown away by the vibrant colours, the white of the chapel and the turquoise blue sea. My bridesmaids in sage green and the white and green stunning flower arch which complimented my bouquet. I will never forget how beautiful it all was, fabulous in the photos but even more spectacular in real life!

Because of the restrictions as a result of the pandemic, Yvonne suggested that we move our reception venue to Skala. This was a last minute change but the changes enhanced our wedding experience. We had another champagne cruise which allowed us all to cool off before arriving at the jetty at Skala, the children all decided to go for a swim at this point! The staff at Skala were so friendly, so accommodating and happy to please.

We had Greek dancers who managed to get even the more reserved members of our party up for a dance. They were amazing! We then danced all night under the lights of the acropolis and celebrated an unforgettable wedding experience.

We really had the most amazing wedding day. You and your team were amazing throughout. Everything that you organised was fantastic quality and I will be forever grateful! Thank you!
