Sophia & Adam

We first met in 2016 while we were both living in Cambodia. For over a year we were just friends (yes, really!) and enjoyed spending time together, however, it wasn't until we discovered our mutual love for tequila that we realised that we liked each other a little more than 'just friends'! Eventually, our friendship grew and after many, many months we realised we liked each other a lot more than just friends. We spent the first part of our relationship continuing to live in Cambodia before deciding a return to England was the next best step for our relationship.

Almost immediately after becoming engaged we started planning, we knew we wanted to get married abroad and Greece looked so incredibly beautiful and also had amazing weather so it ticked all the boxes for us. We made a monumental mistake at the beginning of our process, and one we urge all other couples to avoid; we originally chose a different wedding planner who was NOT Karen, we didn't do our research and ended up losing money and also having a really terrible beginning to our wedding plans. Luckily, we then went on and undertook a lot of research on alternative wedding planners and Karen and her team came out on top, by miles. We have absolutely no idea why we were so stupid and short sighted to begin with and can only blame overexcitement. However, we cannot stress enough how much working with Karen at LIndos Weddings changed our wedding, and the experience of planning it for the better. Speaking from experience we know what it is like to have a planner who lets you down and causes more stress and work for you, as a couple. Finding Karen and working with her was genuinely the greatest decision we made and we are so thankful we found her. Every single day we are grateful that we found her and she was able to work with us and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

From the first moment of meeting Karen at our initial online meeting, she put us at ease and was so lovely, we knew instantly she was a professional and we could trust her with our special day. We had an online meeting with Karen and we were so excited after speaking to her as she was so knowledgeable, kind, reassuring and as well as having lots of fantastic ideas (gained from her years of experience). She also listened to exactly what we wanted, and she worked with our vision throughout the process. We never felt as though the wedding was being turned into something we didn’t recognise, as Karen always took the time to discuss with us what we wanted and gave us ideas to further develop our dream.

Lindos Weddings had the right balance of ideas and suggestions, which helped shape our wedding, whilst also ensuring we felt in control and listened to and that we always knew exactly what was going on, we never had to ask and were never made to feel we were an inconvenience. Karen was so kind and lovely from the beginning to the end of our time working together.

Despite getting married in August 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, Karen and her team never once made us worry or have concerns about anything. Throughout the year and a half we worked together, Karen and her team have been organised, informative, helpful, reassuring and kind. The information Lindos Weddings provided us was always detailed and thorough, we were talked through every step of the process, it was so reassuring and we truly felt in safe hands throughout the entire journey (which we were!). Karen and her team could not have been more helpful and supportive and really made everything so easy and enjoyable. We look back at the planning experience with gratitude and joy because of the experience Karen at Lindos Weddings provided us.

We got married in a private villa and Karen and Yvonne (who we worked really closely with in the final months leading up to the wedding) really did make our dreams come true.

The day was totally magical and everything we had hoped for...and more. Lindos Weddings arrived in the morning and set up everything seamlessly. We had a white arch with our beautiful flowers all around, a white carpet, lanterns - the ceremony took place in the most gorgeous set up and looked so fresh and crisp. Guests were welcomed with drinks and canapes and our amazing violinist Kosmos. We wrote our own vows which was so personal and memorable and our parents and friends shared readings and poems which added to the special memories.

Sophia wore the most incredible Justin Alexander dress which she had dramatically changed by her incredible seamstress in England. The dress was out of this world and the perfect choice for a Grecian wedding.

The bridesmaids wore gorgeous Grecian style, turquoise dresses which looked amazing with the blues of the pool and the sea.

Adam and his groomsmen wore blue suits, again to compliment the colours of the outdoor ceremony. Jennifer was the girls makeup artist and did an incredible job, making the bride, bridesmaid and mother of the bride look flawless; natural yet beautiful. Nigal oversaw hair and created different styles to suit everyone's tastes, we all had a style that suited our individual styles. Sophia had fresh white flowers placed in her hair which matched her bouquet and made her wedding hair that little bit more special. Both the hair and makeup lasted not only the entire day and night but held up for the entirety of the next day too! No retouches needed at all which is a review in itself, especially considering the amount of dancing that took place!

Apart from the blues of the bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen, the colour of the day was predominantly white. We loved how clean and fresh it looked and the fact it 'popped' even more against the aqua blues of the backdrop. The white throughout was incredibly elegant and we are pleased with how everything looked on the day and also in our professional photos. All of the 'props' that we hired from Karen (chairs, signs, baskets, etc) were white and really added to the high-quality feel of the day. All of our flowers were white, and they were so gorgeous; our biggest regret is we couldn't bring them all back to England with us!

Sophia had white roses and the bridesmaids had white tulips which complimented the dresses in all the pictures. We also had white flowers to decorate the arch at the ceremony, as decoration on our signage and side tables and also on every table at the evening meal. It sounds like a lot of flowers but honestly it was the perfect amount. We were guided by Lindos Weddings as to how many and we got exactly the right amount, they completed the look and added beauty to all of our pictures too.

We were guided by Lindos Weddings in terms of the order of the day and, as with everything else they suggested, they got it spot on! We had the ceremony at 3:30, family/group pictures, on location photo shoot, cutting of the cake, speeches, toast, food, Greek dancers, first dance, party. Everyone says this but it's true - the day happened so fast! It honestly whizzed by in the blink of an eye, but because Lindos Weddings had planned everything so perfectly, we didn't spend one moment of the day worried or sorting anything - it was all taken off our hands and taken care of, meaning we could make the most of and enjoy every second.

It's so hard to choose just one favourite moment as every single moment was perfect and exactly what we had hoped for. From a purely selfish perspective we absolutely loved the on-location photo shoot where Antonis (our photographer) and Vasilis (our videographer) took us to a different location and we spent an hour having the most perfect shots taken of us.

We loved this experience because not only did we get some time alone, just the two of us which was wonderful, but we also have the most breath-taking, perfect pictures, which are definitely the highlights of our photo album!

Joint favourite, from the perspective of our guests and their experience, would have to be the Greek dancers. We had two Greek dancers who spent an hour with us and provided entertainment, laughter and memories for the entire time. They got everyone involved and remembering the entire wedding party doing the Zorba around the swimming pool is a memory we will never forget! They facilitated and led dances for the male guests, for the female guests, for the entire group and also for Adam, his groomsmen and his dad who had to prove their worth with press ups and taking a shot with no hands!! The whole experience was hilarious and such a great way to get everybody up and dancing. It put everybody in a fantastic mood, created a brilliant atmosphere and we still get comments on how much fun it was and what a great experience it was!

Other highlights were the violinist Kosmos who was playing the most beautiful music as our guests arrived, we are so pleased we had this as it set the tone and made the ceremony seem special even from before we arrived. The cake was genuinely the greatest tasting cake in the world - we had a three tier naked cake and not only did it look stunning but it tasted out of this world. We opted for two chocolate and one vanilla and we couldn't choose between our favourite - we've even frozen a slice of each and hope it will taste as good next August when we celebrate our first anniversary!

Our DJ Mini was hilarious, helpful, and added that extra 'spark' to the evening. She was so kind to all our guests and accommodating to everyone's requests, she added entertainment and went above and beyond in making sure the evening was fun and memorable for everybody. The food is difficult to describe as it exceeded everything we had hoped for. Yvonne organised and communicated all of our requests and they were more than fulfilled. There was so much food choice, guests were able to go up for multiple servings, there was so much variety and to see it being cooked in front of us was truly fantastic. It tasted incredible, which was lucky as we over ordered and were eating leftovers for three days afterwards! Even after three days we weren't complaining, and it really was so authentic and perfect in both presentation and taste.

Finally, the lighting. Lindos Weddings organised lighting across the whole of the pool area, and it took the evening from amazing, to show shopping. It was like something out of a film and made the entire setting breath-taking, we are so pleased with how it looked and absolutely love the backdrop to all the evening pictures.

Our advice for the planning process is to remember, it is your wedding and your day. On occasion we got caught up thinking about others and what they would want and sometimes forgetting ourselves and what we wanted. We now know that those who want to be there will be and will be there regardless of table decor or the choice of music. In hindsight, we wish we had spent less time worrying and more time enjoying, because we 100% do not plan on doing this again!

Our words of advice to couples considering using Karen and her team would be to 100% go for it. It is incredible what she can create and do, and she really does make the entire process simple and enjoyable. Karen and her team work tirelessly and are so thorough and thoughtful in everything they do. From the very first meeting online, to the time you meet in Greece to the actual wedding day - it is organised and run flawlessly, and all of the team are the most kind and genuine people you could hope to meet. We really do feel incredibly lucky that we found Karen; she created the wedding of our dreams, and we will always be able to look back at our special day knowing it was exactly as we had hoped for and more.

Thank you Karen, thank you Yvonne and thank you to every single person who contributed to the making of our wedding. It really was perfect and we are so thankful and so grateful for everything Karen did to make this a reality.
